Final Festive Makes….And Happy New Year!!

Hi crafty friends, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I’m enjoying a final few days off before my crazy January starts.

I have a final two festive makes to share that were featured in Making Cards magazine last month..

These were made with the Papermania Jolly Santa range by Docrafts and feature elements made from craft foam that’s been heated to shrink it.

The foam can be die-cut and coloured in the same way as shrink plastic and then it’s shrunk using a heat tool.

So, that’s the end of this year’s makes….I would like to wish you all a wonderful, successful, crafty new year!!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hi crafty friends, I’ve been woken up early this morning  as Hoobs is getting excited as he’s getting to see Star Wars tomorrow so I thought I would write a quick post.

These Wellington makes are a different version of a box card I made for Creativity Issue 63..

I’ve mixed Papermania Wellington at Christmas from Docrafts with the XCut Winter Village Shadow Box Die.

I’ve made windows covered in acetate and  added a touch of glue in the corners then sprinkled iridescent glitter on top for a festive look.

I have one more commission to finish this morning and then finally my Christmas holiday starts!!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!!

Making Cards Makes

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all getting sorted for Christmas and looking forward to a nice break. I still have one more commission to do so hopefully my Christmas will start on Tuesday and I will get a blissful 12 days off.

So, I still have a couple of Christmas makes to share, these two were featured in the November issue of Making Cards magazine.

Both cards were made using the Folk Christmas range from Docrafts and feature acetate apertures.

I’ve used a scalloped oval and circle for the apertures and added small gems in the scallops.

The December issue of Making Cards is out now and packed full of inspiration.

Enjoy your day!

Quick Christmas Cards

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all well. My Christmas countdown is on, I’m determined to get all my commissions done this week so I can have two weeks off, bliss!

Before I get started I have a couple of quick Christmas cards to share with you.

There are two matching sheets of paper in the Wellington 12×12″ Paper Pack from Docrafts that have cute Wellingon images on. I’ve taken the first layer and placed it on a stripy background. I’ve cut the main image from the second layer, inked the edges and attached on top with foam pads, easy!

A little distressing, ribbon and buttons adds extra interest as does the cute stamp in the corner!

Ok, let the crafting begin!

Enjoy your day,

Still in a Festive Mood!

Good morning crafty friends, how’s your week going? Mine’s a busy one but I’m not complaining, I’m very grateful to be booked up until after Christmas with work. Not bad for only being freelance for such a short time!

As I’m feeling very festive I’m still sharing Christmas projects this week, here are some more cards from my John Lewis demo at the weekend.

These are all created with the Papermania Create Christmas range from Docrafts.

I’m not usually a fan of the traditional Christmas colours but I did enjoy experimenting with this range.

The wooden shapes and letters are perfect for created pretty cards in minutes.

Glitter embellishments add a lovely touch of sparkle too!

My craft room is calling, have a great day everyone!

Christmas at John Lewis

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you had a lovely weekend. I got my tree up yesterday and enjoyed quite a bit of mulled wine. On Saturday I had a lovely demo at John Lewis in Southampton. It was great to get in the festive mood and create some Christmas bits including this light up sign.

These Papermania Create Christmas  3D Letters from Docrafts have been painted and covered with a thin layer of glitter. I’ve cut the front off the O and made small holes in the back with a craft knife to push the lights through. The base is made from the box the letters came in and the battery holder is attached underneath.

It was a lovely day of festive making and really got me into the Christmas spirit!

Enjoy your day!

Cute Belle & Boo

Good morning crafty friends! I hope your week is going well. I have a massive pile of Christmas cards to make in the next couple of days (130 to be precise) so I’m having an extra cuppa in bed before the madness begins!

I love the Trimcraft Belle & Boo Christmas range and I managed to make a card just for fun with it, it was strange making something for myself!

I used the XCut Winter Village Shadow Box Die and added Santa flying across the sky.

I used a technique I’ve used a lot recently to create the curved panel on the front. There’s a tab one end that’s pushed through the front of the card. The tab can be removed so the card can be folded flat for postage.

So……. Enjoy your day, I best hit those Christmas cards!
