Light Up Your Christmas

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all having a relaxing weekend. I’m enjoying a cheeky cuppa in bed before I head off to Zumba. I need a bit of stress relief before my crazy week starts, and it’s going to be a bit of a manic one!

So, I wanted to share a make with you that I created for Issue 100 of Papercrafter magazine.  I was really pleased with how this wreath turned out.

It was made using the XCut Woodland Stag Wreath Set. I cut a ring from a sturdy cardboard box for the base then layered the foliage on top.

I carefully wrapped a set of Papermania Create Christmas LED White String Lights around the wreath and added extra foliage on top to cover the wires.

Finally I punched out some small flowers in purple cardstock and added silver gems in the middles  for a touch of sparkle.

It was a bit of a fiddly process but I think it was worth it!

Don’t forget to join me on my debut on The Craft Channel this week, Wednesday at 12pm and 7pm and Thursday at 9am and 2pm. I can’t wait!

Autumnal Inspiration

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all having a relaxing weekend. I’m having a lovely cuppa and a pug cuddle while still under the duvet, bliss!

As Autumn is definitely here now I thought I would share some Autumn inspired makes that featured in the October issue of Making Cards magazine…..

These cards were made with the super-cute Wilson Wood range from docrafts. I’m loving the acorn charm on this one!

I distressed all the edges of the papers and added extra texture by machine sewing some of the layers together.

How cute is this tiny bunny? Cute bows, wooden shapes and charms add a finishing flourish.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Santoro Shaker

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all having a productive week. Things are pretty busy here in Krafti world, I’m doing lots of magazine projects this week.

I couldn’t resist having a play with the Santoro Kori Kumi range last week from Craft Consortium. I wanted to create something with a festive twist and couldn’t resist another shaker card!

I mixed the range with the XCut Winter Village Shadow Box Die. This die works best with 5 X 7″ card blanks. I cut five contrasting papers from the Kori Kumi  8 X 8″ paper pack slightly smaller than the card front then glued acetate to the back of the front paper and ran thin foam tape around the edge of the aperture.

I glued the other layers together in the correct order then added a cute Kori Kumi die-cut image to festive scene. I added a heaped teaspoon of iridescent glitter in the centre of the papers then attached the front paper on top to create the shaker.

I wrapped raffia string and baker’s twine across the bottom of the layers and added a cute bell then attached all the layers to the card front. I then added Mini Alphabet Bunting across the top of the card with die-cut letters and added lots of iridescent gems to create falling snow.

If you would like to check out the fabulous Santoro Kori Kumi range then pop over to Craft Consortium. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as me!

Have a great day!

Welcome to the WOW! Blog Hop

Good morning crafty friends and happy World Card Making Day! I hope you’re all enjoying this blog hop with the WOW! Design Team.

Here’s my card for the blog hop which is inspired by the changing seasons and has an Autumnal feel.

I used the Mariposa Clear Stamp Set for this card and started by stamping the large butterfly first and embossing with Primary Bark embossing powder. I stamped another on spare card, cut it out and fixed it over the first butterfly to act as a mask.

I then stamped and embossed small butterflies down the left-hand side using Metalline Violet and Opaque Bright White embossing powders. I also added a small sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments Clear Stamp Set.

Finally, I used an embossing pen to draw over small areas of the large butterfly and background and added a touch of sparkle with Pistachio embossing glitter. I then used Distess Ink and marker pens to colour in the background and create the warm, Autumnal look.

My other teamies fabulous projects can be found here…
