Out Of This World

Hi crafty friends, how’s your week going? Mine’s been quite a quiet one but I’m sure things will be different next week!

I would like to share some super-cute makes today that feature in the latest issue of PaperCrafter magazine…..

These space themed cards were all made using the For The Love of Stamps Out of This World Stamp Set from Hunkydory.

I’ve mixed the cute imagery with the First Edition Beyond The Shore 12 x 12″ Paper Pad as the colours and imagery compliment the stamps really well.

To compliment the space theme I added a layer of silver mirri board and silver embellishments.

Full instructions and a shopping list for these cards are in PaperCrafter 118.

The Out of This World Stamp Set from Hunkydory are available from Hixxysoft.com

Good morning crafty friends, how are you all? This week is whizzing by so quickly, I can’t believe it’s Friday tomorrow!

Today I thought I was share some super-easy makes that featured in Issue 117 of PaperCrafter Magazine….

These were all made using the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Stargazer Collection which is super-cute and very easy to work with.

There are 12 x 12″ papers, die-cut shapes, stickers, stamps and washi tape to play around with to create fun and modern cards. I’ve added a touch of copper embossing powder and embellishments to these cards to match the collection.

I was lucky enough to have one of these cards featured on the front cover of the issue which can be seen here.

The Dear Lizzy Stargazer Collection by American Crafts is available from Hey Little Magpie.

I hope you all have a productive day,

Sunny Stamping

Good morning crafty friends, how are we all? It’s been quite a calm week for me in Krafti world which makes a nice change. I’m loving the fact the evenings are getting a little lighter when I leave my craft studio, Spring is on it’s way!

Talking of Spring, I wanted to share some bright and sunny makes that feature in the March issue of Papercraft Inspirations Magazine……

These three cards all feature the Sunny Wishes Stamp Set from Penny Black. I’ve stamped the image towards the top with black ink, used white embossing powder on the bottom stamping then rubbed Distress Inks over the stamped design.

I’ve partially coloured this design using ProMarkers and have inked the edges and added splats of colour using diluted distress ink and a paintbrush.

For this design I’ve coloured the image with ProMarkers and cut around the design to create a shaped front panel. The sentiment sits on an inked and splattered background.

This fantastic stamp set is available at Crafts U Love.

Issue 175 of Papercraft Inspirations magazine is available at your local stockist now.

Have a great weekend,

Two Ways With Willow

Good morning crafty friends how are we all? I’ve had a very productive week and I’m looking forward to a trip down the local tonight and I day trip to London tomorrow.

I wanted to share two very different makes today that feature Willow in the Santoro Colour Me In Collection from docrafts. I’m a huge fan of anything Santoro so its always a pleasure to play around with the gorgeous papers and decoupage.

This card featured in Quick Cards magazine and shows how the gorgeous neutral papers and imagery work well with the framed photograph.

The second card features on the docrafts blog and I’ve added painted wooden shapes with a touch of glitter as embellishments.

To check out the entire Santoro Colour Me In collection you can find your nearest docrafts stockist here.

Have a great weekend,

Hoppy Birthday

Good morning crafty friends, good weekend? I had a lovely relaxing weekend after a manic week in Krafti world. It’s great to be busy though!

I wanted to share some makes that I absolutely loved making that were featured in issue 174 of Papercraft Inspirations Magazine…..

These super-cute cards were made using garden printables that were designed for Papercraft Inspirations by the very talented Naomi Skinner. As well as gorgeous patchwork papers and background scenes there’s lots of cute bunnies!

I had great fun creating scenes using the bunnies and vegetables and adding the clever sentiments to finish them off.

The best thing about these printables is that they’re free to download from the Papercraft Inspirations website.

Get your printer set up and have fun!

Enjoy your day,

Three Looks, One Stamp

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all having a productive week. I’m still buzzing from making my Create & Craft debut on Saturday. It was a fantastic day, all the presenters and staff were a pleasure to work with and it couldn’t have gone better!

Today I’d like to share a set of makes in the latest issue of Papercraft Inspirations magazine featuring one stamp set…..

All these cards were made using the Altenew Sweet Friend Stamp Set. I used the matching frame die for this card to create the aperture.

I mixed white and gold embossed areas with brown ink stamping down the left-hand side of this card before inking over the top.

I made the sentiment the focal point of this card and subtly used the frames in the background.

The Altenew Sweet Friend Stamp Set came be found here.

The full instructions of how to make these cards are in February Issue 174 of Papercraft Inspirations.

Have a great day,

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’ve had a great week. I’m feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement today as I have very exciting news….I’m making my debut on Create and Craft tomorrow!

This day seems to be a long time coming as the whole process started way back in July last year. docrafts were looking for a replacement on the channel and we were asked to audition.

We were asked to produce a three minute audition video then the successful applicants went to Peterborough for a screen test. We also went to docrafts HQ for a meeting then finally, just before Christmas I got my first TV date through!

My first shows have a Valentines theme and feature lots of fabulous, dies, embossing folders and embellishments.

The shows are Saturday 13th January at 9am and 4pm and more details can be found over at Create and Craft.

I hope you can join me!

I wanted to share another commission today that is in the final issue of Quick Cards Made Easy which features a mix of stamped florals and quotes….

These cards were made using Abstract Flowers and Words Stamp Sets from Hobby Art.

The background papers are Floral Festival In Colour from Crafty Individuals and I’ve coloured the flowers in to match using ProMarkers.

To add extra interest I’ve stamped and embossed a plain background then subtly inked and added splats of watered down Pickled Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.

Goodbye Quick Cards Made Easy

Good morning crafty friends, did you all have a lovely Christmas? It was a pretty quiet one here on the Isle of Wight which was just what we needed. We still have a few more days left to relax (my two and a half week break went out of the window) so we are determined to make the most of it!

So..I have some really sad news today, Quick Cards Made Easy magazine has ceased publication and the final issue is now available. I am very pleased to see my bird house card made it on the final front cover……

Hayley Rowe, the editor of the magazine, has been kind enough to commission me for the last two years from when I first went freelance and I’ve created projects for every issue since.

These bird house cards feature the BoBunny Serendipity collection and there is also a template in the magazine to create the card.

For a shabby chic look I added some subtle brown inking and some distressing as well as an extra touch of colour with paper flowers and gems.

Please grab your final copy of the magazine, Issue 174, while you can. It can be purchased here or at your local stockist.

I would like to wish Hayley and the team all the very best and I look forward to working on new ventures with them in the future.

Appy Christmas from The Charlatans

Good morning crafty friends, Santa is nearly starting his journey around the world! The food shopping is done, got to scrub the house this morning then I’m all ready for the festivities to begin.

I wanted to share a very different make for me, it was a Christmas card that I created for fans of the band The Charlatans…..

My very clever husband designed a phone app postcard for The Charlatans as part of a long running line of merchandise to show The Charlatans back catalogue in different ways. It was then decided that it would make an ideal Christmas card if turned into an actual phone which is where my paper skills came in!

The card featured 3D elements and a photo of The Charlatans. What made it extra special was the pocket containing a signed card from The Charlatan’s frontman Tim Burgess!

I sent the cards to Tim at their studio where they were rehearsing for their recent UK tour. Once they came back to my craft studio the fun began. After the cards were advertised on Twitter the response was amazing and the orders came flooding in!

In total I created around 100 individual hand-made cards which were then sent to Charlatans fans in the Uk and across the world. It was a labour of love for sure!

After lots of late nights crafting away this is what my craft studio floor looked like! It was a great experience to be involved in and it was great for Tim to get involved too. I also made a donation to The Brain Tumour Charity from The Charlatans fans in memory of their drummer Jon Brookes.

Same again next year?
