Some more demo cards to share with you

Hello crafty friends! It’s a bit grey and rainy here on the Isle of Wight and myself and Hoobie have a busy weekend ahead trying to decorate our new place. Before I start all that I thought I would say hello to you all and share some more cards that I made at my Docrafts demonstration at Busy Bee last week…..

This one is made using the fabulously versatile 12 Days of Christmas filigree cards. I’m loving these at the moment, they add a wonderful dimension to all projects. This card was very simple to make, I’ve cut up some Spots and Stripes Jewel Big Bloomers and got to trusty glue gun out to form a wreath and finished off with a button, bow and sentiment.

This card features a technique I’ve used several times before but I couldn’t resist doing it again! The Forever Friends bears “balloon” is made from Spots and Stripes Jewel button packaging and I’ve popped a few of them inside it, cute!

This final card is a bit more traditional and I used a mixture of Little Red Robin and First Noel 6×6 papers for this. I’ve stamped the lovely image in chocolate die ink and used a brush with water to colour in areas and give it a watercolour effect. I couldn’t resist adding a jingly festive bell onto this one!

Right, the brushes and paint rollers are calling me!

Have a fabulous weekend all…..

Happy Bee-Day over at Crafty Bloggers Network

Hello everyone! I’m being really naughty today and having a day off, the joys of self employment eh? I’ve tired myself out with work, crafting, more work and yet more crafting so just needed a day to recharge. I do have a little crafty something to share with you today though….here is my second inspiration card for Crafty Bloggers Network…

This card was made using the fabulous “Imagine That!” Digis by Kris, our sponsor for this month. I love the little bees, they’re soooo cute! I used a sketch that I found over at Docrafts Creativity Club and had a little bit of fun with this design, I hope you like it!

There’s still plenty of time to enter this months challenge so why not pop over to http://craftybloggersnetwork.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/inspiration-monday-23rd-september.html and be inspired…..

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Demo done!! Happy and exhausted

Good evening all! I’m in my onesy and reflecting on the day I’ve had. After all my preparations I finally got to do my first Docrafts demonstration today. I met some lovely people and hopefully inspired them. Let me share some cards with you…..

This easel card incorporated another felt brooch. These were really popular today so I better get my thinking cap on for other gift/card ideas. I used the 12 Days of Christmas Range for this, everyone is loving the filigree cards, they’re so versatile!

This was the first card I made today which was made using the free 12 Days of Christmas papers that came with Creativity magazine. I covered buttons with craft tape to make the baubles and then added the fabulous dome stickers for extra bling.

This card featured the gorgeous Little Red Robin range. This was probably my most complicated card today, there’s lots of little elements and inking going on but I managed to make it fairly quickly! The whole day has been a great experience and a real learning curve and I hope I get the chance to do it again very soon……but now I need a little craft break for a few days!!

My final demo card, nearly ready for tomorrow!

Hi all, demo day is nearly upon me and my preparations are going well. I will be beavering away in my craft room for most of the day but I just thought I would share my final make that I’m taking to display tomorrow…..

I’ve used the gorgeous 12 Days of Christmas range for this card but have swapped the red elements for some grey. I’ve added a felt brooch to this card which is detachable, the idea came from an episode of Creativity Tv in which Jo Austin made a fabulous felt flower for a card. Genius idea Jo!

The brooch is very simple to make, it’s layers of die-cut felt flowers glued together in the centre and then carefully heated with a heat gun which makes the felt shrink up slightly and become a bit stiffer. I’ve added a couple of subtle embellishments to this one but you could bling it up as much as you like! I think I will be making plenty of these for Christmas.

Right, the craft room is calling! Don’t forget to check out Creativity TV, over at the Creativity Club on the Docrafts website. For a small subscription charge you get hundreds of ideas and tonnes of inspiration.

Wish me luck tomorrow!

Another two Christmas demo cards….the countdown has started!

Good morning crafty friends! I’m at home today carrying on with my preparations for Sundays Docrafts demonstration. I have lots of ideas spinning around my head and I need to try and get them all organised into actual cards ready to demonstrate!

Before I crack on I thought I would share another couple of makes that I’m taking with me on the day….

This first one is a mixture of the fabulous new ranges Little Red Robin and First Noel. I kept the colours very traditional for this and inked all the edges in chocolate and orange ink pads to add a warmth. I used the First Noël Mini Decoupage pack for the main image in the corner, it was really quick an easy to build up and adds a great focal point and I think it makes a nice contrast to the intricate robin image.

My second card is made using mainly elements from the latest Christmas Goody bag and it’s a mixture of First Noel, Country Companions Winter Wishes and Spots and Stripes Jewels. I’ve just lightly inked the edges of this one and used Kraft card which I think enhances the traditional Christmas colours really well.

It’s been a real challenge making fairly simple cards that are effective but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it….

Best I get on with some more…..please come and visit me if you can on Sunday at Busy Bee Garden Centre, Ryde, Isle of Wight between 10 and 4, it would be fabulous to see as many fellow crafters and friends as possible!

Another two Christmas demo cards….the countdown has started! 02

My demo preparations continue…….

Good morning crafty friends!! Not long to go now until my first demonstration at the weekend. My preparations are going well although there’s still plenty more to do. It’s going to be a very busy week in Krafti HQ. I’ve been trying to come up with some more quick cards this week, here is my first…..

This super quick card was made using big bloomers from the Spots and Stripes Jewell range. I used my trusty glue gun for this and layered up petals from the bloomers to form a simple Christmas tree. I added a bow and bell to the top and finished the card with freehand lines with a gel pen, a Glitterations sentiment and a lick of glitter glue. This one was done and dusted in 15 minutes, a miracle for me!! I hope you like them.

Have a great day,

A quick 12 Days of Christmas Card

Helllloooo!

I have another busy crafting day ahead, well this morning anyway as I’ve promised Hoobie and the dogs a lovely walk to the pub for a roast.

I have another little Christmas make to share with you this morning that I’ve made for my Docrafts demonstration next week…..

I wanted to make a quick, simple card as I think it’s important that I show my fellow crafters a wide range of techniques and styles. I could spend hours perfecting one card but not everyone wants to do that so I came out of my comfort zone and made a simple card using the fabulous new 12 Days of Christmas range. Instead of using the blue elements in the papers I went for Kraft card instead and just used a very minimal colour palette. I must admit it was lovely to get something completed in just over half an hour for a change! I hope you like it!

Have a great day…

A quick 12 Days of Christmas Card 01

Preparations for my Docrafts demo have started…..

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all well and enjoying your weekend so far. Things are going to be very busy in Krafti HQ this week as I need to make preparations for my first Docrafts demonstration next weekend. I’m a mixture of very excited, slightly daunted and very nervous at the moment but hopefully I can mix all those emotions together and get through the day having a thoroughly great time and with any luck inspiring many new crafty friends.

The first card I’ve made to take with me on the day mainly uses the fabulous Forever Friends Kraft Notes Christmas range…….

This oh so cute range features so many beautiful characters but I went for the uber cute bear sporting his reindeer antlers and snazzy Christmas scarf. I tried out the new X Cut Circle Cutter for this card to create the curved front. This tool is brilliant and so easy to use, I can’t wait to get my hands on it again!

I didn’t want to use any glitter and sparkle on this card as I just wanted to enhance all the lovely neutral colours so I just distressed and inked the layers and added a few subtle embellishments. I stamped the little cutey bear inside in chocolate brown ink and finally added a sentiment and “mum” lettering to finish it off. Lets hope it goes down well at my demo. If you would like to come and support me on the day I’m at Busy Bee Garden Centre on the Isle of Wight on Sunday the 22nd of September from 10 to 4.

Best I get on with my next make…..have fun!

More Marianne Design Collectables

Good morning! Another lie-in for me, Hoobie and the pugs and then I have a couple of crafty things to finish. I have another make to share with you this morning which I made for Crafters Companion for the Die’sire Design Team, similar to yesterday’s card, using those wonderful Marianne Design Collectables again….

I loved working with this range, the images are really beautiful. As with yesterday’s card I let the images do the talking and kept the embellishments quite minimal.

I’ve used two contrasting Core’dinations card for the die-cuts and I have delicately sanded the elements to give them a more subtle look, fitting in with the Romantic Journey papers perfectly.

Right, my craft room is calling!

Have a great day…

Come on a romantic journey with Marianne

Hello crafty friends, ooh I’m enjoying another lazy morning and I’m off out soon to enjoy some more of the fabulous Isle of Wight sunshine it first let me share a little something that I’ve made for Crafters Companion……..

This beautiful range is from Marianne Design Collectables and features a range of papers, dies and stamps that blend seamlessly together. The main focus of this card is an image from the Romanic Journey Pretty Papers Bloc.

I’ve kept the colour palette quite subtle and have used sanded Core’dinations to really show off the intricate designs within the dies.

I’ve kept embellishments minimal as I wanted to focus on this gorgeous range and really show it off.

If you would to have a really good look at the Marianne Design Collectables range and see lots of inspiring cards then take a look at Create and Craft on September 8th at 9am and 12 noon, you’re sure to love them as much as me!
