It’s #docrafts Monday!

Good morning everyone! I hope alls well with you all. Just a quick blog this morning as I have a busy day ahead of me! Here is a piece I made over the weekend for the new weekly ‘show and tell’ idea from docrafts.

I’ve used an old frame I had and covered it with Sew Lovely adhesive paper and spritzed it with inks. The Madame Payraud images were perfect for the Parisienne feel I wanted to capture.

I’ve added a small set of lights behind the Eiffel Tower to add a little glow to the piece. The battery pack is hidden away in a memory pocket in the back.

If you would to get involved then upload a recent docrafts project on Facebook or Twitter and add #docraftsmonday to your make.

Enjoy your day!

A Fabulous Day Filming Docrafts TV

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re all well! Apologies for not being around for a while but the last two weeks have been extremely busy in craft world and I have had several deadlines. Thankfully after my demo tomorrow I will have a little breather for a few days!

Anyway, my most exciting deadline was projects for Docrafts TV. When I was asked to get involved I felt a mixture of being scared, excited and feeling sick but it was such a brilliant opportunity I couldn’t say no!

I braved the awful weather on Wednesday and made my way to Dorset. It was lovely to finally meet Katy Godbeer and I had a good look at the projects on the shelves as everything was being set up. This Gorjuss card caught my eye and I was chuffed to find out it was made by my friend Geraldine Carruthers…well done Ger, it’s fab!!

Here is a little look behind the scenes as Katy was filming an introduction. We filmed four projects on the day and Katy and Rob made me feel very at ease so hopefully I’m not shaking too much!!I got to use lots of fabulous new ranges which aren’t out until March but here is a little sneaky look at one make….

If you would like to watch the episodes we filmed then pop over to Creativity Club and for a small fee you will get access to loads of exclusive projects and ideas.

Back to the craft room for me, enjoy your day!

Demo Makes To Share

Good morning all my crafty friends! I hope you had a fabulous creative weekend and made lots of gorgeous things. I had a rare day off from crafting on Sunday ready for a very busy couple of weeks coming up both in craft land and soft furnishing land. I probably won’t have chance to blog much so I will share some makes with you from my Docrafts demonstration on Saturday……

This is a card made mainly using the darker papers in the Parisienne Blue range. I thought these papers worked well with a pop of bright pink and a lick of glitter glue.

This card was made just using items from January’s goody bag. I’ve made a shaker from the button packaging and used the brilliant Madame Payraud alphabet stickers which are so versatile and very useful!

This card features images from the Madame Payraud 12 x 12 paper pack. I’ve made a mask from a lace paper and used spritzing ink to create the floral image. These inks are brilliant, they colour everything with a quick spray and dry really quickly, fabulous!

I had a fabulous time in Brighton and met some lovely people, am looking forward to seeing them all again in March.

Work beckons……enjoy your week!

Horay, it’s Craft Wednesday!

Good morning crafty friends….there’s finally been a change to my normal working week. Due to my increasing craft workload (happy face) Hoobie and I have decided that I need to dedicate at least one week day a week to getting creative and Wednesday it is!!

Before I get in my craft room I thought I would share another scrapbook page with you. I didn’t realise how much fun I would find making them and I think they could be my new favourite thing.

This is another page documenting my wedding day in August 2012. We got married in the Yellow Room at Marylebone Town Hall and I thought some of the gorgeous Parisienne Blue papers from Docrafts were ideal to compliment the yellow.

I’ve added some extra elements from the Sew Lovely and Madame Payraud ranges and have kept the feel of the page very girly with punched flowers and delicate roses snipped from the edges of a Lace Paper. It’s lovely to have another reminder of our fabulous day.

So….it’s off to work I go!

Enjoy you day.

Sunday Scrapbook page

Hi everyone, I’m enjoying a lazy cuppa in bed with my feet warmed up on my furry hot water warmer (Lottie the pug) and I thought I would say hello as it’s been a while.

I’ve been finding it quite difficult to get motivated recently with all the recent upset but finally I’ve managed to get creative. I thought it was about time I started scrapbooking so here is a page I’ve come up with…..

This page is made mainly using the wonderful Docrafts Madame Payraud range. I thought the colours were ideal to match our outfits in the photographs. I’ve used Artiste Spritzing ink over a Parisienne Blue lace paper to achieve the pattern in the background. I’m loving these inks, they add instant colour that dries really quickly and this lovely purple ink also leaves a hint of sparkle

I’ve added spritzed ribbon, lace and created layers and areas of interest by inking and distressing the cardboard underneath and adding various gems.

It was quite therapeutic making this and lovely to be reminded of our wonderful wedding day, I hope you like it!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Papercraft Inspirations makes

Good morning all, I hope you get the chance to do some crafting this weekend. It’s been a very craft free week for for me which is quite unusual but I’ve had a terrible week and had no inspiration. Our beloved pug Baxter was taken ill on Monday morning and after spending several stressful days in intensive care at the vets subsequently died on Thursday. We are devastated (he was only 6) so as you can image, crafting has been the last thing on my mind.

Amongst the stress and the upset the new issue of Papercraft Inspirations came out which helped take my mind off things for a little, especially as I was looking forward to seeing my makes that were commissioned to show off the new Sew Lovely range from docrafts.

I’m loving this range, it’s a little crazy but works really well.

I made a very simple wreath for this card, they don’t just have to be for Christmas! It’s basically just some Big Bloomers cut up and glued together to form a wreath, simple. Why not give it a go?

I was lucky enough to get a four page spread in this magazine which is my biggest to date so as you can imagine I was really pleased to see it all in print, cards always look so much better when someone else photographs them!

Enjoy your weekend guys. I’m going to try and do something creative and remember all the wonderful times I had with my brilliant dog…..

My latest Creativity Commission

Hello all! I hope you’re all coping with the weather ok, it’s crazy isn’t it? I’m just enjoying a cuppa and a pug snuggle ready to start a very busy crafty day. Before I get started I thought I would share my latest commission in Creativity Magazine….

I got to use the fabulous Art Deco range again for these makes and it was lovely to do some colouring as I don’t get the chance to do much! I added some strips of paper to add a bit of interest and give the impression of curtains and added splashes of pink to give the range a fresh, summery look. I really enjoyed making the brooch too.

There are loads of wonderful makes in this latest issue and it’s available now so why not grab yours and be inspired!

Have a great day.

New year, new makes!

Happy new year everyone! The last year has gone so quickly and I’ve managed to achieve lots with my crafting so I’m hoping this year will be just as successful!! I have my first docrafts demo for this year on Saturday so I have a couple of very busy days preparing for that. Before I get in my craft room let me show you the 3 cards that I gave you a preview of a few days ago……

I’m loving all these new docrafts ranges. This Parisienne Blue capsule collection has lots of beautiful elements and cards can be made very quickly. Craft tape bunting and a pin wheel add instant texture and interest with minimum effort.

Isn’t the Sew Lovely range wonderful? Again, there are lots of interesting elements and the combinations are endless. This card was made mainly using a die-cut pack which is a really quick way of making a card as all the cutting out is done for you.

Ooooooh the Madame Payraud range is so beautiful and I can’t wait to get my crafty mitts on that today! What’s not to like? I particularly love the metal elements, so gorgeous! You may have noticed that the sentiment on this card is in a different language…it was made for a German shopping channel so I thought it only polite to add some German to it, I hope it went down ok!

Anyway, work beckons for me after I’ve taken the puggy mutts out. I am demoing at Pickwell Farm in Netley near Southampton on Saturday so if you’re free and in the area then please pop in and say hi and come and enjoy these fabulous new goodies!

It’s time for a docrafts preview!

Good morning everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Myself and Hoobie didn’t quite have the Christmas we expected, our New Forest hotel rang to say they were closed as we were waiting for the ferry, they had no power! So basically we ran to Co-op and managed to buy our Christmas dinner in the 10 minutes before it closed! But hey, a lot of worse things happen and on the plus side we used the hotel money to buy a new television instead, happy days!

Anyway……I’ve been lucky enough to have been working with lots of fabulous new docrafts goodies over the last couple of months and thought I would give you a small sneaky look at some of my makes….

This is the new Capsule Parisienne Blue collection, I’m loving this range, such wonderful muted shades and ideal for mixing with other ranges.

This fabulous Sew Lovely range contains an array of wonderful colours and works really well with kraftcard.

I think the new Madame Payraud is my new favourite, I’m just loving the metal elements which are so versatile.

I will be able to share lots of makes with you soon and don’t forget these ranges are all available at the beginning of January, I can’t wait to start demonstrating them!

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

My final festive make this year!

Good morning all! I hope you’ve all had a crafty weekend and perhaps managed to put your Christmas decorations up? My decorations are still packed away as I’ve busy working on several makes and ran out of time. I can’t share them with you yet as they’re made with docrafts goodies that are not out yet so I have to bide my time! In the meantime I will share my second inspiration card for Crafty Bloggers Network this month….

This is another cute image from Milk and Coffee, our sponsors this month. As the theme is “girly” I went for lots of pinks and glitter.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and used papers from Docrafts Spots and Stripes pastel collection to compliment the pastel shades I’d used in the colouring. Lots of punched snowflakes, gems and a snowflake charm complete the card, I hope you like it! That is my final festive make this year, I’ve been making Christmas cards since August and I could do with a break now!

There’s still plenty of time to join in with the challenge over at Crafty Bloggers Network, pop over and have a look!

Enjoy your day…
