Hello crafty friends! It’s that time of the week again! I’m so sorry I didn’t manage to pop in for a chat during the week but as usual it was a very busy one doing lots of crafty things.
Finally I am here and I have a make to share with you that I made at my docrafts demonstration on Saturday at Pickwell Farm near Southampton…
This large 8 x 8″ aperture card is a mixture of twoof the brand new ranges from docrafts, Botanicals and Wild Rose. Both of these ranges are so versatile and perfect for this time of year.
The butterfly is a Bare Basics wooden shape which I’ve painted and distressed. I’ve used images from the Botanicals decoupage paper to decorate it and sealed it with some matt varnish. He sits happily in his scalloped aperture and rests of the background aperture which is made from parchment paper (my current obsession)!
have a little tip should you wish to try making a card like this, you may want to add some extra strips of card inside on each side of the aperture to help strengthen it a little as the butterfly is a little heavy and it will keep the card nice a rigid.
Work beckons for me now, have a lovely day,
