Weekend Crafty Creations

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you all had a good weekend, they go so quickly don’t they?

I had a docrafts demonstration over at The Range in Portsmouth and I wanted to share some makes from the day….

I really enjoyed making this shadow box card mixing the lovely papers from the brand new Capsule Elements Pigment collection with an Anita’s Foiled Decoupage. I created the pom pom garland by simply threading pom poms from July’s Creativity cover gift on to white cotton thread.

I mixed the new XCut Meadow Flowers Dies with paper and craft tape from the Capsule Elements Pigment collection for this card. I couldn’t resist a Gorjuss girl who came from the A4 Colour Me In Book.

Finally, I showcased the Capsule Elements Pigment A4 Ultimate Die-Cut & Paper Pack by creating this cute trapeze card.

All these great new products are now available at your local docrafts stockist.

Have a good day,

Hi crafty friends, I hope you enjoyed some lovely weather this weekend. Now it’s back to reality!

I’d like to share some recent makes that were featured in the July issue of Making Cards magazine.

These were all made using docrafts Capsule Elements Metallics range which includes lots of gorgeous shiny papers and vellum.

The Ultimate Die-Cut & Paper Pack includes lots of die-cut sentiments, alphabet stickers and bunting.

There are also wooden pegs, wooden letters and wooden tile letters in the collection, perfect for all recipients.

Three Gorjuss Girls

Good morning crafty friends, sorry I’ve been gone a while, I had a lovely week off with my birthday at the end of it then it was a busy crafting week back at work.

So…as I love Gorjuss so much I thought I would share another three makes from some recent docrafts demonstrations…..

This one is made with the Spring At Last Gorjuss Die which I’ve simply layered with die-cut circle apertures and lots of cute punched flowers.

I’ve mixed Capsule Elements Metallics with the XCut Hot Air Balloon Cut & Emboss folder for this cute card and added a Gorjuss sticker. I rubbed a little Artiste Metallic Silver Acrylic Paint over the embossed image with a dry baby wipe to enhance the design.

Again I’ve used the Capsule Elements Metallics range for this with the Gorjuss Colour Me In Stickers and Craft Tape. I’ve simply added watered down watercolour pen to the stickers to match the background cardstock.

All these goodies can be found at your local docrafts stockist.

Enjoy your weekend,

Fun In The Sun

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all well and enjoying the gorgeous weather! Hoobs and myself had both finally caught up with work last week so decided to have this week off. It’s been great to finally relax and we’ve been to the beach every day, the joys of living on an island!

Anyway, to fit in with the weather I have some very summery makes to share that feature in the August issue of Papercraft Inspirations……

I was given a wonderful set of tropical printables, designed by Esther Curtis, to create these cards which can be downloaded from the Papercraft Inspirations website. This rocker card is my favourite, the hula girl was perfect for this.

I couldn’t resist making this spinner card with a pineapple. I mixed the printables with double sided papers from the Kaisercraft Island Escape collection.

I just had to add a touch of pink sparkle in this shaker card to match the flamingo.

Finally, this stepper card was ideal for layering foliage and creating a three dimensional scene.

Full instructions on how to make these cards are available in issue 167 of Papercraft Inspirations. The downloadable papers can be found here.

Right, where’s the sun lotion?

With Love From Gorjuss

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all enjoying the weekend. I’m having a nice lazy one this week as I have double demos next weekend plus a manic week of commissions so I won’t get a day off until next Monday!

Anyway, I wanted to share a card I made at one of last weeks demos which features good old Gorjuss….

I mixed a Creativity cover gift decoupage with papers from the Capsule Elements Metallics range and the Gorjuss Colour Me In Craft Tape.

For the background I spritzed water on white textured cardstock then applied diluted water colour pens on top with a baby wipe. I then splattered Artiste Metallic Silver paint on top.

I added extra shine to the die-cut letters by adding a layer on Anita’s 3D Clear Gloss and added a touch of sparkle with a heart cut from a Jewels & Gems Hearts Gem Border Sticker.

If you would like to attend a free docrafts demonstration then you can find your nearest here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Dress To Impress

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’re all having a good week! We’re in for a manic few days here on the Isle of Wight as the festival gets going. Still can’t decide wether to go or not this year, decisions, decisions!

Anyway, I would like to share some shaped cards today that are featured in the latest issue of Quick Cards Made Easy….

These were made for the “Shape Up” feature and there’s a template which I designed also included in the magazine.

These gorgeous papers are from the Bronte Charm collection available at The Range stores.

I used a border punch to add the lacy effect on the skirts and added punched flowers for extra decoration.

Issue 166 of Quick Cards Made Easy is available here.

Have a great day,

Gorjuss Hits The Beach

Hi crafty friends, I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a fun weekend playing with some of the latest products from docrafts at my demonstrations in Gosport and Portsmouth.

I would like to share my beach inspired project…..

This card was made using the fabulous new Santoro Gorjuss Little Fishes rubber stamp set, I love it!

I started with a piece of paper from the Capsule Elements Wood range which I distressed then added areas of Artiste Blanc Acrylic Paint with a dry brush. I then stamped on top and added a little more paint to add to the distressed look.

I think stamped the main image on various papers from the Capsule Elements Wood range which I inked and paper pieced together for a shabby chic look.

Finally, I added brads and some frayed Bare Basics Natural Jute to complete the nautical look. I hope you like her!

 WOW! That Sparkles

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you all having a good week, besides the awful events in Manchester. I’m only doing a three day week this week, there’s a lot to cram in, several commissions, hospital appointments and a hair cut then I’ve got 5 days off, yay! I need it!

Anyway, today I have some makes to share that are in the latest issue of PaperCrafter…..

These three cards are created using some of the latest stamps, powders and glitters from WOW! Embossing Powder, one of my favourite companies.

The embossed backgrounds have been stamped and embossed with various coloured regular powders then enhanced with distress inks.

I’ve added dots with an embossing pen and sprinkled glitters on top for a touch of sparkle. I’ve also added a glittery border by running double-sided tape around the base card and then sprinkling with glitter.

To see the full instructions and shopping list for these cards then they can be found in PaperCrafter issue 108 out now.

You can find all of WOWs amazing products here.

Have a great day,

My Queen Bee

Hello crafty friends, I hope you’re all well. I have finally found some time to play about with the Tell The Bees collection from Craft Consortium and I’ve married my two favourite things together (besides the husband), crafting and pugs!

This is my little madam Lottie and I thought she was perfect for a “Queen Bee” scrapbook page. Her colouring works well with the gorgeous papers in this range, designed in the U.K. by mega talented illustrator and designer Katy Hackney.

I’ve added paint and machine stitching to the 12 x 12″ papers. The 200gsm double-sided papers come in a variety of finishes and are very sturdy so withstand lots of tearing and distressing.

I’ve added extra detail to of the painted areas using the clear stamps and a black ink pad. For texture I’ve added strips of linen cotton ribbon and for a touch of sparkle I’ve added sequins.

You can see the whole collection and find out where you can get your hands on it over at Craft Consortium.

I hope you enjoy this fabulous range as much as me!
