As you can probably tell from the look on his face Baxter loves card making. He would just like to say to you all that if you lack the confidence to go in for any competitions, don’t be shy and go for it….who knows, you might just get lucky!
Docrafts run a weekly challenge both on their website and on their blog, both are a good place to start plus you get to win lots of Docraft goodies. Anyway, it’s Baxter’s tea time now but he will logging on at a later date to see who’s entering competitions, good luck!
Hello again…..have eaten a massive roast with lovely friends today and then managed to hide away in the craftroom for a couple of hours. The lovely Katie Skilton emailed me the latest download from Docrafts Creativity Club for me to play with over the weekend and I managed to come up with a nice bright, cheerful card
A lot of my designs feature distressing and inking but this week I’ve been trying to go back to basics and simplify my designs. It’s nice to be able to show a wide range of techniques. This card uses a basic die cut pattern, printed sentiment, printed and die cut image and minimal embellishments. Very much enjoyed this one…thanks to Katie for the downloaded images. If you would like to have a look at Katie’s amazing work then have a look on http://www.katieskilton.com. She is a very talented designer and you’re sure to get inspired by her.
The crafting goodies are packed away and it’s back to work tomorrow. A very busy week ahead but I will try and put something on here!
I got off to quite a slow start yesterday, the ideas were taking a while to flow so I had to finish this today.I’m very pleased with it!I have a bit of a crush on the Forever Friends bear at the moment and today he’s nestling in paper straw all cosy. These gorgeous, fresh papers are downloaded from Docrafts through their Creativity Club. For a small cost every year you get access to lots of gorgeous papers, sketches, inspiration and the addictive Creativity TV!Check it out….off for a roast now 🙂
Finally…no more sewing to do.It’s time to craft! For Katy’s Challenge this week I have decided to use some Forever Friends decoupage with some gorgeous Easter papers that I’ve downloaded from Creativity Club….need to play and I will show you the results later!
A lovely friend of mine is turning 40 this week and I wanted something special for her.i have been loving using the new Gorjuss range from Docrafts and decide to have a go at a more grown up version of her.i kept the look of the card minimal and just used 3 colours and was really pleased with the end result.i really hope she likes it!
I’ve only been married since August so wanted to make a good impression on my father in law Malcolm.I find it difficult sometimes to get inspiration for male cards but the Chronology range from Docrafts is perfect for creating something a little less girly than usual!!
This was my first attempt at the “Steampunk” look and I really enjoyed it,hopefully he will like it too.I think I will be using that range again for Fathers Day.
This weeks challenge is a shaped card.I decided to use some elements from the new Docrafts Forever Friends range and mix it up with some of the Docrafts Capsule collection.
I used Papermania card stock for the flowerpot and grass.I made the pot slightly rounded and held it in place on the background card by stapling it.I find this the better than using glue or pads for this as it’s more secure. The staples are easily covered with other elements of the card. The little bear is tucked into the top of the pot and I’ve given him a little butterfly to talk to!This was good fun to make and has a lovely, fresh spring feel to it.
