Love Is On The Air

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you’ve had a great week. I’m feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement today as I have very exciting news….I’m making my debut on Create and Craft tomorrow!

This day seems to be a long time coming as the whole process started way back in July last year. docrafts were looking for a replacement on the channel and we were asked to audition.

We were asked to produce a three minute audition video then the successful applicants went to Peterborough for a screen test. We also went to docrafts HQ for a meeting then finally, just before Christmas I got my first TV date through!

My first shows have a Valentines theme and feature lots of fabulous, dies, embossing folders and embellishments.

The shows are Saturday 13th January at 9am and 4pm and more details can be found over at Create and Craft.

I hope you can join me!

Quotes and Florals

Good morning crafty friends and happy new year to you all! There’s a lot a exciting things happening in Krafti world this year so I’ve gone back to work early to crack on!

I wanted to share another commission today that is in the final issue of Quick Cards Made Easy which features a mix of stamped florals and quotes….

These cards were made using Abstract Flowers and Words Stamp Sets from Hobby Art.

The background papers are Floral Festival In Colour from Crafty Individuals and I’ve coloured the flowers in to match using ProMarkers.

To add extra interest I’ve stamped and embossed a plain background then subtly inked and added splats of watered down Pickled Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.

Full instructions and shopping list for these cards can be found in Issue 174 of Quick Cards.

Enjoy your day,

Goodbye Quick Cards Made Easy

Good morning crafty friends, did you all have a lovely Christmas? It was a pretty quiet one here on the Isle of Wight which was just what we needed. We still have a few more days left to relax (my two and a half week break went out of the window) so we are determined to make the most of it!

So..I have some really sad news today, Quick Cards Made Easy magazine has ceased publication and the final issue is now available. I am very pleased to see my bird house card made it on the final front cover……

Hayley Rowe, the editor of the magazine, has been kind enough to commission me for the last two years from when I first went freelance and I’ve created projects for every issue since.

These bird house cards feature the BoBunny Serendipity collection and there is also a template in the magazine to create the card.

For a shabby chic look I added some subtle brown inking and some distressing as well as an extra touch of colour with paper flowers and gems.

Please grab your final copy of the magazine, Issue 174, while you can. It can be purchased here or at your local stockist.

I would like to wish Hayley and the team all the very best and I look forward to working on new ventures with them in the future.

Appy Christmas from The Charlatans

Good morning crafty friends, Santa is nearly starting his journey around the world! The food shopping is done, got to scrub the house this morning then I’m all ready for the festivities to begin.

I wanted to share a very different make for me, it was a Christmas card that I created for fans of the band The Charlatans…..

My very clever husband designed a phone app postcard for The Charlatans as part of a long running line of merchandise to show The Charlatans back catalogue in different ways. It was then decided that it would make an ideal Christmas card if turned into an actual phone which is where my paper skills came in!

The card featured 3D elements and a photo of The Charlatans. What made it extra special was the pocket containing a signed card from The Charlatan’s frontman Tim Burgess!

I sent the cards to Tim at their studio where they were rehearsing for their recent UK tour. Once they came back to my craft studio the fun began. After the cards were advertised on Twitter the response was amazing and the orders came flooding in!

In total I created around 100 individual hand-made cards which were then sent to Charlatans fans in the Uk and across the world. It was a labour of love for sure!

After lots of late nights crafting away this is what my craft studio floor looked like! It was a great experience to be involved in and it was great for Tim to get involved too. I also made a donation to The Brain Tumour Charity from The Charlatans fans in memory of their drummer Jon Brookes.

Same again next year?

There are plenty of die-cut shapes too to layer up and for an extra festive flourish, lots of mini pom poms to create snowballs and embellishments.

Pop over to American Crafts and see the whole gorgeous collection here.

Weekend Demo Makes

Good morning crafty friends, how are we all? Things are pretty manic this week in Krafti world, I’m going on an exciting trip tomorrow for a couple of days, I can’t say much about it at the moment but hopefully soon!

So, I had a very pleasant demonstration at The Range in Portsmouth over the weekend and wanted to share some cards I created…..

This winter birthday card features one of the Santoro Willow stamps mixed with Modern Lustre papers. I used the new XCut Leaf Cut & Emboss Punch to decorate the front.

For this super-quick make I used an XCut Mini Die and Modern Lustre adhesive letters.

I mixed Santoro Willow with the XCut Winter Forest Die for this aperture card.

Festive Fun

Good morning crafty friends, how are you all? I hope alls well in your crafty worlds. Things have been a little stressful here but hopefully things are turning a corner now.

I had a lovely demo at The Range on the Isle of Wight at the weekend and I made quite a few gifts which made a nice change from cards. I did manage a couple of cards though……

I can’t take credit for this clever sentiment as I found it in a recent copy of Creativity magazine. I mixed XCut Mini Dies with Papermania Modern Lustre papers and added a cute string of Papermania Love Santa lights across the top.

For this light-up card I used the XCut Winter Forest Cut & Emboss Folder which I cut out in Kraft card then painted with white and gold Artiste Acrylic Paint. I added a little “shelf” inside then popped a colour changing LED tea light inside.

You can find out when your nearest docrafts demonstration is on here.

It’s Elf-tacular!

Good morning crafty friends, good week? I can’t believe it’s Friday already, I’m going to enjoy a final weekend off then I’m busy working every weekend until December, busy times!

With Christmas approaching fast I wanted to share some more festive makes that feature in this month’s PaperCrafter magazine…..

These super-cute cards were made using the Avery Elle Elf-Tacular stamps and matching dies. The dies cut out the stamped figures perfectly leaving a small border around the outside so you get a really professional finish.

I used papers from the Pebbles Merry Merry collection and used layered die-cut apertures to create depth in the scenes.

I couldn’t resist making a snowy shaker scene with iridescent glitter!

Full instructions and the full shopping list for these cards can be found in PaperCrafter 114.

Have a great weekend,

Make A Wish

Good morning crafty friends, how are we all? It’s all busy in Krafti world, I’m really looking forward to a decent break at Christmas but that’s a long way off yet!

Talking of Christmas, I’d like to share this festive wreath that features in the new issue of PaperCrafter magazine……

This wreath was created using the Create Christmas range from docrafts. This range features all the basic products you need for your Christmas crafting.

I used the XCut A5 Leaves Die Set for the foliage which I attached to a Create Christmas Polystyrene Wreath with a glue gun. I then wrapped two sets of Create Christmas LED White String Lights around it.

I punched out flowers with the XCut Palm Punch for an extra colour and added silver gems, silver dome stickers and a lick of iridescent glitter for a sparkly finish. Finally I added a Foiled Sentiment across the back on a strip of acetate.

Full instructions and a shopping list for this wreath can be found in PaperCrafter Issue 114

All Create Christmas products can be found at The Range.

Have a great day,
